About Myself - I’m a Very Competitive Athlete!

Welcome! This is my first time blogging. :)

I’m just a plain, ordinary, young and simple lady who is a very competitive athlete involving in very competitive sports (Hint: I raced for my country!).

Sports is what I have loved all my life and is all that I cared about all my life until one day, I stumbled into the strange world of meditation. It was Feburary 2006, when one day I requested one of my team-mates to teach me some basic methods of meditation which she had learnt from her masters. I’m a free thinker, never got attached to any religions or whatsoever, never meditated before my entire life; and the first time I sat down together with her for only about 10 minutes meditating…I was shocked and blown away…! I never had this kind of feeling and experience before.

Suddenly everything changes - my focus, my views of the world, my thinking… and I felt disorientated for quite some time… I was previously a very competitive athlete; and all i cared about was training hard, …real hard… for all my races and all i’m concern about is winning, until now.

Sports and trainings are all very YANG activities; and today I’m trying to balance up my life and trying to make sense of all that is happening to me.

I realize that not everyone is experiencing the kind of experiences I’m having with my meditations and practices. Even my friend was shocked that I was actually advancing and progressing faster than herself. According to her, even though she had met many masters and people who were on the same path as her; but I was the first person she knew who could go into a very deep states of meditation after only a few days of ‘just trying it out!’

This journey inwards, up until today, has been amazing. I started to question about the meaning of life. I never dared to tell my friends or even my family about my strange experiences for fear of ridicule. So currently, I would only share with my friend about my practices. This blog also started out of encouragement from my friend who asked me to note down my journey and experiences.

Today, I’m still learning as much as I can…and trying to make sense of it all.

English is not my first language. You would have to bear with all my spellings and grammar. But I try to write as best as I could and I try to relate my experiences here for the benefit of those of you who are also on the path of self cultivation and meditation.

This will be a place where I will share my love for sports and for meditation… :) Enjoy!
